Dale Spencer, Chair

More than 30 years ago I was asked to help my co-workers gospel band, they needed a sound guy, I feel in love with the technical side of productions. Since then I have run a puppet company, sung in choir in front of 30,000 people as submarines were launched and taught classes on how to make bread. I moved to Idaho about 20 years ago for a "temporary" job and feel in love with the area  In addition to my day job on the INL, I serve on the board of the Westside players where I build sets, do technical things with sound and lights and occasionally get convinced to do things on stage. I have had the pleasure of doing set work at ISU, Old Town Actors Studio and Palace Playhouse. The Arts are part of what makes a great community and I am a big believer in the power of community. I am part of the Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship and serve on board of Temple Emanuel Synagogue. I have been on the Arts Council for a couple years am honored to be a part of the moving the arts, our city and area forward.

MARK cOOPER, Treasurer

Mark Cooper joined the Pocatello Arts Council in May of 2018. In February 2019, he became the Chair of the Pocatello Arts Council. Mark has a passion for the arts and has a vision of Pocatello becoming a center of arts and culture in Southeastern Idaho. He and his family regularly attend arts events in the community.

Mark was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but since 2016, he has called Pocatello his home. Mark works at Idaho State University in the Instructional Technology Resource Center. His educational background includes a B.S. in Marketing and an M.B.A from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA.

Cameron Dey

Cameron Dey was born in Idaho but lived outside of Washington D.C. for most of his childhood and teenage years. He finished high school in Pocatello. He plays the tuba and wishes he could play more. He loves the Arts, especially when they're in Pocatello. He also loves being mediocre at lots of art forms and is always trying to learn more. Some of his favorite pastimes are going to live music and walking through Old Town with his wife and son. His favorite thing about being on the Pocatello Arts Council is seeing the prevalence of art in Pocatello visibly increase.

Danielle Harrington

Danielle Harrington has lived in Pocatello for over 15 years. She grew up in Boise and moved to Pocatello to attend ISU where she met her husband, an avid guitarist. She enjoys bicycling, snowboarding, reading, and listening to music.
The arts have always intrigued her. She played the viola in high school and has tried her hand at sketching and painting at any opportunity.
”It’s always refreshing to experience what our local musicians and artists will produce, whether it be an art walk in old town Pocatello or musicians playing at the farmers market and revive at five.”

Kirsten Roberts

Kirsten grew up in Venice Beach, CA watching her mother paint murals in the pavilion. Her mother’s mediums were pastels and oil paints, and Kirsten would attend art classes with her as a little girl. She remembers paying attention to the instructors and being inspired. Kirsten enjoys making glitter creations for face and skin, and trends towards mixed media.

Music is another passion and she enjoys small venue local concerts with different genres to enhance the listening experience. “Music makes people move and still have their own unique rhythm and experience.”

She also enjoys learning new mediums and techniques and uses her free time crafting and supporting local artists. She’s excited to be an advocate for art in Pocatello and contribute via volunteering and creating.
