We are excited to announce our 3rd annual Empty Bowl’s Throw-A -Thon was a major success! Through the generous efforts of Pocatello resident and student artists, along with the support of Idaho State University and local community businesses, we were able to reach an ambitious goal of creating 200 bowls to donate to this years local Empty Bowl’s Fundraiser! CALL TO ARTISTS!
Pocatello Arts Council (PAC) is inviting Pocatello artists of all ages to submit to our first Digital Exhibition. The theme will be “off the beaten path.”
Work Media: 2-Dimensional work, painting mediums, and photography allowed including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media, pencil, pen, charcoal, conté, and digital painting.
Work Size: no requirement
Entry Requirements: This call is free to enter and open to all ages. Artists must be current residents of Pocatello, Idaho. Imagery must be family friendly. One admission per person. Images should be presented in JPEG format with image size set to 72 dpi. Email your image to: pacidwebmaster@gmail.com. Include the medium, size, title of the work, and your zip code in your email. Including contact information and biography is optional.
Timeline: Call opens February 15, 2021
Entries Due: April 30, 2021
Selection Process: The Pocatello Arts Council will review the submissions in April.
Notification to Artist: If your work is chosen you will receive an acceptance email from the PAC.
Accepted Artwork: Accepted artwork will be displayed digitally on the PAC website.
Delivery: This is a digital show. There will be no physical exchange of artwork.
Exhibit or Event Ends: The Digital Gallery of accepted work will remain on the PAC website.
Grants for Artists! A Note from the Idaho Commission on the Arts

In Spring 2020, and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress appropriated CARES Act funding to the National Endowment for the Arts to issue grants in support of the arts across America. A portion of this funding has been made available to the nation’s state arts agencies, including the Idaho Commission on the Arts.
These funds will be distributed as special, one-time grants to Idaho artists and nonprofit arts organizations experiencing arts-related income loss due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
APPLICATIONS OPEN - NOVEMBER 2, 2020
Eligible entities and individuals may apply starting at noon MST on Monday, Nov. 2. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and continuing until funds are fully expended, or until 11:59 p.m. MST, Monday, Nov. 16, whichever occurs first.

Individuals and entities new to our online application system will need to create a user account and be approved prior to submitting an application. New account registrations are approved by Commission staff during regular business hours. New users are strongly encouraged to register for an account by October 30, 5 p.m. MST to ensure access to the application portal when it opens.
GRANTS FOR ARTS NONPROFITS
Funds are intended to support Idaho-based nonprofit arts organizations or units of local or tribal government experiencing arts-related income loss as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Organizations that received CARES Act Round One funding are not eligible to apply for this opportunity.
$750 in one-time federal funding is designated to support salaries, fees for artists and other contracted personnel, and facilities costs. It does not require a match. As with all Commission grants, it will require a final report at its conclusion.

Old Town Actors Studio (OTAS) - Light in the Library
We are very lucky to have such a rich theater community in Pocatello. One of the projects Pocatello Arts Council has contributed to is the recent showing of “Light in the Library” at Old Town Actors Studio. Below are photos from the event.
Another Colorful Mural in Old Town Pocatello
We are very excited to see all this color in downtown Pocatello! It adds so much life to Old Town. This mural project is another PAC grant opportunity. It was crafted by Nick Hottmann. It can be found on the back side of Station Square.
